Shop Technician

Do you enjoy hands-on mechanical work and have a knack for keeping equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready? Essential Personnel is looking for a skilled Shop Technician to join a busy pull-behind trailer repair team! Candidates must have their own tools and toolbox.

In this role, you ll work on a variety of trailer systems, including electrical, braking, suspension, and structural components. From routine preventative maintenance and accident damage repairs to welding and flooring replacement, you ll help ensure trailers are safe, dependable, and compliant with DOT requirements. If you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy solving mechanical problems, this could be the opportunity for you!

Requirements for Shop Technician:
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Experience using diagnostic equipment
Carpentry and welding skills
Strong mechanical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Ability to maintain accurate records
Must provide your own tools and toolbox

Responsibilities for Shop Technician:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of trailer systems
Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
Repair trailer damage resulting from accidents
Complete welding and flooring replacement projects
Repair electrical, braking, suspension, and structural components
Ensure all work meets safety standards and DOT requirements
Safely and effectively use hand and power tools
Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
Work with team members to complete repairs efficiently and on schedule
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
