Shop Technician- Rigging and Warehouse

BC Wire Rope, a division of American Equipment Holdings, is a full service provider of wire rope, slings, chain, hoists, and rigging equipment. BC Wire Rope has served the heavy lifting needs of customers throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Tucson and the Western United States since 1974. 

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Shop Technician (Rigging and Warehouse) to support fabrication and warehouse operations in Elko, Nevada. This position builds and assembles wire rope and rigging products, prepares customer orders, receives materials, and maintains an organized shop.

The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Experience in a shop, warehouse, fabrication, or industrial environment is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble wire rope slings and other rigging assemblies according to work orders, specifications, and      established procedures.
• Measure, cut, and prepare wire rope and related materials for assembly.
• Operate fabrication equipment and hand and power tools after completing required training.
• Check completed products for correct dimensions, components, identification, and workmanship; report defects or      discrepancies before release.
• Assist with product testing and documentation as trained and assigned.
• Pick, package, label, and stage customer orders accurately.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect materials for damage.
• Stock materials, maintain inventory locations, and assist with cycle counts.
• Load and unload deliveries using appropriate material-handling equipment; operate forklifts only when trained and      authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep tools and equipment in good working conditions.
• Follow safety procedures, wear required protective equipment, and promptly report hazards.
• Coordinate with shop, warehouse, and sales personnel to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse operations, shop work, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industrial setting preferred.
• Wire rope, sling fabrication, or rigging hardware experience is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, follow written and verbal instructions, and accurately use a tape measure.
• Basic math skills for measuring materials and verifying quantities.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work effectively with a team.
• Willingness to learn fabrication processes, product requirements, and safe equipment operation.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Perform work in a shop and warehouse environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, and handle materials.
• Move wire rope, rigging components, and customer orders using appropriate lifting techniques, assistance, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This will be in a warehouse/shop setting.
