Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Classical School is seeking caring, dependable, and flexible short-term and long-term Substitute Teachers to join our team. Opportunities are available for 4k through 8th grade. Substitute teachers play an important role in maintaining a positive, faith-filled learning environment while providing quality instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. We are unique in that we are a small school with small class sizes and that we have two grades per classroom (e.g., 4K/5K, 1st/2nd…7th/8th). Regular teachers leave excellent and detailed instructions for the day, and students learn the routine of the day very quickly.

Teaching Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the care of instructional materials and equipment.
Supervising Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising students in accordance with the building regulations established.
Provide supervision in the areas to which his/her students are assigned.
Encourage students to conduct themselves in the manner and mode of conduct which has been defined as acceptable by the administrator and staff.
Accept and perform supervisory duties as assigned.
Supervise and discipline regardless of grade level.
Share responsibility for safety and health of each child.
Substitute teachers must have a bachelor''s degree or teaching license.
Responsible to comply with all areas addressed in the contract and policies of the Diocese of La Crosse.
