Position Overview
Parkway Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and engaging Short-Term Music Teacher to provide high-quality general music instruction to students in K4 through 3rd grade from April 6 through June 11. This individual will maintain a positive, creative, and structured music environment that supports student growth, exploration, and joy in music.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide developmentally appropriate general music instruction to K4-3rd grade students • Implement engaging lessons aligned to district and state music standards • Foster a classroom culture that is safe, respectful, and supportive of all learners • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies including singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and creative expression • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff as needed • Communicate professionally with families and school staff • Maintain classroom organization and manage materials appropriately • Uphold school-wide expectations and routines
Qualifications
Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure (music education preferred) Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Ability to create engaging, student-centered music experiences Flexibility and professionalism in a short-term assignment
