SIGN ASSEMBLER POSITION SUMMARY:
Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a premier full-service sign company that has been serving Arizona and National Accounts since 1964. The Sign Assembler is responsible for delivering professional, high-quality, trim capping and assembly for all signs. Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to details and adhering to safety standards. Previous experience trim capping, working with primary wiring (120V), wiring and placing LEDs, working with tools, and knowledge of commercial sign materials is essential. UL certification is a plus, but not required.
DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong working knowledge of sign materials (e.g., aluminum, vinyl, plex, etc).
- Experience and ability to use tools effectively to perform trim capping and assembly.
- Proficient with electrical components, including LED and primary wiring (120V).
- Can read blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, and diagrams.
- Previous experience assembling in a sign shop is a plus.
- UL certification is a plus.
- Thorough grasp of OSHA safety standards and procedures is required.
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively as a team to achieve goals.
- Possess a can-do, growth-oriented attitude and mindset.
- Ability to tolerate long periods of standing, bending, and other low posture positions; use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools and assemble sign components, etc.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs without assistance.
- Ability to hear, speak, and see objects near and far; tolerate loud sounds and extreme temperatures in a partially enclosed shop environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extensive and prolonged periods of standing; working in low postures; working from and on ladders; gross and fine manipulation of one’s hands and fingers; reaching at, below, and above the shoulders; near and far visual acuity; ability to tolerate loud sounds; ability to hear and speak (up to 8 hours).
- With proper hydration, the ability to tolerate temperature shifts and extremes, including exposure to heat and cold (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, and reach overhead (up to 8 hours).
COMPENSATION:
- This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
- Regular hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- Additional hours and schedule flexibility may be necessary at peak times.
- Pay range is $23.00 - $28.00 DOE.

Where We've Been
Bootz & Duke Sign Company was small at first, specializing mostly in hand lettering and painted signs. Over the course of the next 10 years, Bootz & Duke Sign Company successfully grew into a full-service sign company.
1964: Founded by Charlie Bootz and Jim Duke
1978: Jim Duke retired and his son Jeff Duke took over partial ownership with Charlie Bootz and his wife Nellie Bootz.
2006: Charlie Bootz and Nellie Bootz retire. Bill Gibson and Cindy Gibson step in as the new owners. Joining them is Andy Gibson as President and Charlie Gibson as Vice President-- along with many devoted Bootz and Dukes employees.
