**? About the Role**
The **Educational Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)** plays a vital role in ensuring deaf and hard-of-hearing students have full access to communication, instruction, and school activities. Using **American Sign Language (ASL)** and other interpreting methods, you'll provide high-quality 1:1 support that empowers students to participate confidently in their learning environment.
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support an elementary student during in-person school hours, with the potential for additional hours during extracurricular activities.
**?? What You'll Do**
+ **Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation** for an elementary student
+ Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
+ Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff
+ Support IEP-related communication needs
+ Collaborate with the SPED team and district interpreter staff
+ Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to educational standards
+ Assist with communication access during extracurricular activities (as needed)
