PURPOSE OF JOB
Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a variety of situations using the appropriate sign language system to facilitate communication between individuals so that optimum learning can take place.
What Youll Be Doing
Responsibilities:
• Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students who are mainstreamed into regular education classes and academic support. • Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at school functions and extracurricular activities. • Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during psycho-educational and other evaluations by the District or contracted personnel. • Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and their parents at placement or other educational-related conferences and activities. • Interpret as assigned according to individual student or program needs.

To Be Successful at This Job
Youll Need To Qualify
High School Diploma Minimum of Certification Level III - Missouri Certification & Licensure Note: Out-of-state certifications are subject to review and approval by District Administration and the Missouri Commission for the Deaf (MCD)

Youll Need Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree • Educational interpreting experience • Completion of Interpreter Training Program
