Requirements:
· Good knowledge of Cam software – (Mastercam preferred)
· Associate degree from trade school in machine tool trades, should have 8+ years of injection molding experience.
· Must have strong skill base in the principles of mold construction keeping tooling maintenance concerns as a high priority.
Extensive degree of mental and visual attention is required
Basic computer skills; knowledge of IQMS a plus
· Ability to operate a forklift
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Attention to detail/detail oriented/organized
Responsibilities:
· Work cooperatively with fellow employees and provide guidance whenever needed
· If assigned, supervise an apprentice in an efficient manner
· Operate all equipment in the shop efficiently and with no supervision
· Diagnose and correct problems in complicated molds, tools and fixtures
· Has complete knowledge in the use and application of all tool steels and related materials for the building of complicated molds
· Grind and fit components together with tolerances of +/-.0002
· Will inspect /Q.C. parts per customer’s CAD files and have working knowledge of S.P.C and geometric tolerance
· Create CNC paths in Mastercam
· Plan, schedule, and complete job to meet desired delivery date within the amount of time quoted
· Build molds from conception drawings/layouts/part models.
· Read and interpret prints, electronic data, and correct any errors before cutting steel
· Disassemble and trouble-shoot problems with a mold and arrive with a plan of action to correct the problem within a reasonable cost and time span with some supervision.
· Build electrodes for EDM process of extreme complexity with no supervision
· Plan and program EDM machine to run unattended, overnight, or weekends whenever possible, with supervision.
· Help develop and document new procedures to make it more efficient on machine tools
· Perform any inspection procedures efficiently and in a cost-effective manner with no supervision
· Assemble a mold of any complexity with no supervision
· Is capable of wiring a complete runner-less mold with supervision.
· Is capable of figuring out the timing on a rack and gear mold and assembling molds with hydraulic cylinders, with supervision
· Produce a mold of the quality designed on the prints with the best workmanship possible. This means no weld, shims or plating build ups.
· Adhere to current safety standards
· Perform other related duties as required by the Tool Room Manager.
Mold Maker – 1st Shift
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated, talented mold maker to join our expanding Tool Room Team. This position will entail the ability to build, repair, and alter, molds and fixtures of extremely complex and precise nature. You will develop strategies in fabricating designed molds, using the appropriate machining techniques.
1st Shift: Monday - Friday
Starting Pay from: $35.00 per hour/DOQ
