Job Description

Signal Integrity Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – M,W,Th on-site)
Duration: 1-Year W2 Assignment (potential to extend / convert)
Pay Rate: $70–71/hour

About the Company
Join a global leader in data storage technology that develops innovative flash memory, SSD, and storage solutions powering enterprise, cloud, AI, and consumer applications worldwide. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge high-speed storage products in a collaborative engineering environment.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Signal Integrity Engineer to support the development and qualification of next-generation enterprise SSD products. In this role, you will perform signal integrity analysis, simulation, validation, and correlation activities to ensure high-speed interfaces meet performance and reliability requirements. You will collaborate closely with hardware, PCB layout, package, systems, validation, and product engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-layout and post-layout signal integrity simulations for high-speed interfaces including PCIe, DDR, and NAND.
  • Develop PCB, package, connector, routing, and stack-up design guidelines to optimize signal performance.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts to identify and mitigate signal integrity risks early in the design process.
  • Analyze channel performance, eye diagrams, jitter, crosstalk, reflections, impedance discontinuities, and channel margins.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including Hardware, Layout, Systems, Package, Validation, and Product Characterization.
  • Support engineering validation testing (EVT), laboratory measurements, debugging, and root cause analysis.
  • Correlate simulation results with laboratory measurements and product performance data.
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to improve simulation-to-measurement correlation.
  • Partner with component suppliers and equipment vendors to evaluate new technologies and technical solutions.
  • Document simulation methodologies, design recommendations, engineering findings, and product-level signal integrity results.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Signal Integrity, High-Speed Digital Design, or a closely related engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of transmission lines, impedance control, S-parameters, jitter, crosstalk, channel analysis, and high-speed digital signaling.
  • Hands-on experience with signal integrity simulation tools such as:
    • Ansys HFSS
    • SIwave
    • Keysight ADS
    • Cadence Sigrity
  • Experience using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise SSD, storage, or high-performance compute products.
  • Experience correlating simulation models with laboratory measurements.
  • Familiarity with PCB design practices for high-speed digital systems.
