Compensation
Pay range: $26-32/hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
Reporting to the Signal Superintendent or Foreman, the Signalman performs all necessary installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
+ Perform general labor tasks as necessary
+ Assist in groundwork installations, wiring & testing
+ Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition
+ Perform all periodic inspection and tests as per railway and RailWorks standards
+ Comply with railway and RailWorks safe work practices and signal work procedures
+ Perform all administrative duties related to proper documentation as per RailWorks Quality Management System
Required Skills and Qualifications
+ Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
+ Three (3) years of recent related experience. Railway or construction experience would be an asset
+ Previous electronics training would be an asset
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
+ Work is outdoors in all weather conditions
+ Exposure to live track/trains and high voltage
+ Work is safety sensitive and protective equipment is required
+ Travel to work sites is required.
