Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Evaluates and treats speech and language pathologies in an impatient and \ or outpatient setting providing professional speech language pathology services for the care and treatment of patients. The SLP evaluates and administers treatments to patients experiencing speech/language, language-based cognition, and/or swallowing difficulties to maximize patient's communication and/or swallowing abilities. The SLP promotes the health and well-being of the people we serve.

Job Requirements
General Requirements • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible for clinical fellowship year. • Licensed in the State of Michigan • BLS certification Work Experience • Clinical experience treating Adult and Pediatric patients preferred • Experience with voice disorders preferred • Previous Experience with adult patients in videofluroscopic swallow studies preferred Education • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program in Speech/ Language Pathology. Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Basic clinical skills providing speech/language pathology services. • Willingness to be training in additional evaluations/ treatments based on needs of clinic and community • Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing work situations. • Ability to type to complete EMR documentation in a timely manner. • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in her/his assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training and experience. • Willingness to be trained in specialty areas as indicated by needs of the clinic to meet patient needs.
