  • Develop and execute annual sales, marketing, and promotional strategies to increase awareness, attendance, and revenue within the student and youth market.
  • Own the overall growth strategy for student travel, educational field trips, youth sports, student performances, and special youth programming.
  • Stay ahead of the academic calendar and industry trends to identify opportunities, launch new initiatives, and maximize booking windows.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for school districts, educators, coaches, athletic directors, tour operators, youth organizations, and community partners.
  • Represent Herschend and Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts within local, regional, and national student travel markets through networking, trade shows, community involvement, and industry associations.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, digital content, sales materials, and messaging that increase market visibility and drive bookings.
  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments to develop new programs, events, and experiences that attract student and youth groups.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, correspondence, itineraries, and event documentation.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, booking pace, and customer feedback to adjust strategies and maximize performance.
  • Establish and monitor revenue goals, booking pace, sales pipeline, and key performance indicators, providing regular reporting and forecasting.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Student & Youth Sales Coordinator(s), delegating event coordination and administrative responsibilities while maintaining accountability for departmental performance.
  • Provide overall oversight of student and youth events, ensuring successful execution through effective planning, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for key accounts, strategic partnerships, and complex customer issues.
  • Lead the Student & Youth Sales function through both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. While providing direction and oversight to the Student & Youth Sales Coordinator(s), this position is expected to actively perform the day-to-day sales, customer service, event coordination, administrative, and client support responsibilities of the department as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.

Required Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Preferably a college degree in marketing or related field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in student events, marketing, or sales role
  • Experience with common office software such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
  • Proven ability to achieve positive financial results from current and prospective clients in previous roles.
  • Stable work history with a focus on customer satisfaction and exceeding goals.
  • Experience in maintaining strong client relationships via written and oral communication.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams while driving accountability and achieving business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other sales-related tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams to execute special projects and duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, working nights and weekends as needed for travel or event execution.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, including confined spaces and outdoor environments.
  • Regular travel required, including the ability to operate motor vehicles for site visits and client meetings.
  • Frequent communication, both in person and via phone, to support ongoing sales activities and customer inquiries.
  • Physical demands include the ability to move around the worksite, including climbing stairs, bending, and lifting 5-20 pounds.
