    Customer Support Hardware Engineer

Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

    Position Overview

Do you enjoy solving hands-on electronics challenges and helping customers keep advanced measurement systems performing accurately? Join our Simcenter customer support team as a Customer Support Hardware Engineer and build expertise across hardware, software and thermal measurement applications.

Based in Hungary, you will work on site when you are not travelling, close to the Budapest development, research and production teams. You will support customers across Europe, with business travel expected to account for around 30% of your working time. The role includes access to a company car.

You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate Simcenter Micred thermal test hardware, including T3ster, Power tester and Quality tester. You will also connect regional customer needs with our development team, helping prioritise technical issues and shape practical solutions.

This is an opportunity to work with advanced hardware, meet customers across different industries and countries, and develop a broad view of the product lifecycle. Product-specific thermal measurement, application and calibration knowledge can be learned in the role. Your electronics foundation, practical problem-solving approach and customer focus will help you succeed. As your experience grows, the role can open pathways into areas such as pre-sales, product development, production or team leadership.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain, inspect, repair and calibrate customers' Simcenter thermal test hardware.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, identify root causes and deliver practical solutions.
    • Provide responsive technical and application support to customers across Europe.
    • Partner with the Budapest development team to review, prioritise and resolve technical issues.
    • Act as a technical second line within the Global Hardware Support team.
    • Travel to customer sites for repairs, maintenance and reinstallation, around 30% of working time.

    Qualifications

    • Practical electronics expertise with the ability to diagnose, repair and solder hardware.
    • An electrical technician qualification, engineering degree, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
    • Experience using and maintaining electronic measurement equipment such as voltage and current meters.
    • Clear English communication skills, including the ability to read and write technical documentation.
    • A customer-focused, collaborative approach with strong practical problem-solving skills.
    • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across Europe.

    Nice to Have

    • Knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or fluid dynamics.
    • Experience with embedded systems, networked systems, or industrial test equipment.
    • Experience with Simcenter Micred products or thermal transient, power cycling, or environmental test equipment.
