The Simulation Education Specialist will help facilitate daily operations of the Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence Simulation Center by: 1) serving as a mentor and educator to healthcare providers and home caregiver teams; 2) creating, preparing, and coordinating simulation scenarios for use with advanced simulation equipment; 3) instructing course facilitators in simulation-based education principles and the use of simulation equipment; 4) conducting routine equipment maintenance, inventory updates and recommendations for new equipment purchases; 5) scheduling and tracking Center usage; 6) conducting regular evaluations and critique of programs, soliciting recommendations from both internal and external users; 7) creating innovative curricula and identifying opportunities to integrate continuous improvement concepts and technology into healthcare education; 8) maintaining professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends; 9) teaching AHA courses and ENA courses (if applicable), 10) assisting Medical Director of Simulation and Senior Simulation Education Specialist, Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence as required.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree is required; Bachelor Degree is preferred
Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or Respiratory Therapist and 3-5 years experience required
DE RN or RRT license required
AHA BLS required
PALS required
Preferred licensure/certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor certification
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
