Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant. Hiring range is $68,000-$72,500.

Job Description:

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Simulation/e-Technology (Sim/e-Tech) Technician supports the School of Health Professions (SHP) by coordinating e-learning, healthcare simulation, and educational technologies. Working collaboratively with faculty, this role manages simulation spaces, operates scenarios, maintains specialized equipment, and manages the supply chain and inventory for the clinical learning and nursing skills laboratories.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Film, Healthcare/Medical Technology) OR an active healthcare certification (e.g., Paramedic, EMT, CNA, Respiratory Therapist, LPN) OR CHSOS certification. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience providing technical support for computer hardware, software, networking (PC and Mac platforms), and virtual reality systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and vendors.

Additional Considerations:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields (Computer Science, IT, Film, Healthcare) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) designation.
  • Professional clinical experience in an allied health field and a strong working knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Advanced familiarity with standard audio-visual equipment (projectors, microphones, media players, etc.).
