POSITION Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator
DESCRIPTION East Texas Baptist University invites applications for a Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator in the Teague School of Nursing. The position begins August 3, 2026. The Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the nursing programs mission to prepare competent and compassionate nurses through the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and technical support of all simulation and skills lab operations, including preparation, maintenance, and repair of simulators, software, and hardware.
The Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator develops, implements, maintains, and evaluates a program of clinical skills, simulation, and standardized patients supportive of student learning. The position is responsible for ensuring that simulation technologies are functioning correctly, setting up and executing simulation scenarios, and providing technical support to users. The Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator collaborates with the Dean of the Teague School of Nursing and Nursing faculty to ensure all simulations and skills align with learning objectives, accreditation, curriculum, and nursing standards and scope of practice.
The position participates in the advising, mentoring, and remediation of students. This is a grant-funded position.
QUALIFICATIONS
• ETBU seeks a qualified individual with a current unencumbered RN license within the State of Texas who has graduated from an accredited program with an Associates Degree in Nursing required, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing or higher is preferred. • Evidence of current immunizations and BLS certification are required and must be kept current. • Two years of clinical experience as an RN is required. • Experience with simulation, academic coaching, and/or advising is preferred. • Preference to emergency room, intensive care unit, stepdown, or medical-surgical experience. • Candidates must have a strong commitment to supporting student success as well as the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. • Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to working in Christian higher education through the integration of biblical faith and learning. • Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. • The Simulation Skills Lab Coordinator must live lifestyles consistent with the Universitys biblical standards of morality, temperance, stewardship, as well as membership and active participation in the adjunct faculty members local Christian church.
