This position on our Simulation Team supports healthcare simulation technologies and methodologies of the Simulation Center at the College of Nursing (CON) serving multidisciplinary health professionals. In addition to the CON, services may be provided in other simulation spaces on Health Sciences campus after cross-training is provided. The position supports preparing, running and maintaining low, mid-range, and high-fidelity simulations through the use of task trainers, patient simulators, virtual reality and standardized patients (actors) in a fun and educational atmosphere. The simulation specialist independently operates Simulation Center equipment and provides support to students, faculty and other users. Work includes independently managing AV in simulation rooms and manikin set-up/take down, application of moulage (movie make-up), set-up of medical equipment and supplies, and recording and playback of simulation events. The specialist may also support Objective Structured Clinical Examinations, Interprofessional Education, immersive simulation experiences and other scheduled inpatient and outpatient simulation learning activities at the University Hospitals and Clinics.This position has no responsibility for providing direct care to patients.
