The Simulation Technology Teaching Assistant supports the planning, setup, and delivery of simulation-based learning experiences in the School of Education and Health Sciences. This role assists faculty and simulation staff by preparing simulation spaces, maintaining equipment, supporting learners during simulation sessions, and helping ensure safe, organized, and high-quality educational experiences.
This position is ideal for a reliable, detail-oriented student with an interest in healthcare education, technology, teamwork, and hands-on learning.

Simulation Setup & Session Support:
1) Assist with preparing simulation rooms, labs, and equipment prior to scheduled sessions
2) Support faculty during simulation activities by managing timing, room flow, and learner transitions
3) Assist with moulage, props, standardized patient setup, and scenario staging as needed
4) Help maintain a professional and psychologically safe simulation environment for learners
Simulation Technology Support:
1) Operate basic simulation technology (as trained), including: Audio/visual systems (Learning Space), Simulation software platforms (Laerdal and CAE), Manikin operation (basic functions) Troubleshoot common technology issues during sessions and notify simulation staff when escalation is needed, Assist with maintaining digital simulation files, checklists, and documentation
Equipment & Inventory Management:
1) Clean, reset, and restock simulation rooms after sessions
2) Support organization of supplies (airway kits, IV supplies, wound care materials, etc.)
3) Assist with routine equipment checks and reporting maintenance needs
4) Ensure equipment is handled safely and stored appropriately
Professionalism & Communication:
1) Communicate effectively with faculty, simulation staff, and student learners
2) Maintain confidentiality regarding student performance and simulation activities
Required Qualifications:
1) Current student in a health sciences graduate program or related program (preferred but not required)
2) Strong reliability and punctuality
3) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail
4) Comfort working with technology and willingness to learn new systems
5) Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in fast-paced environments
