Helicopter Type Rating Instructor
Instruct helicopter type ratings, recurrent flight training and special flight courses for AWTA in accordance with the relative syllabus, in a timely and professional manner. Participate on the development of new training courses and ensure a high levelof paperwork and record keeping. Occasionally deliver the courses off site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver pilot type rating and recurrent flight courses - 70%
- Deliver other training courses as applicable - 10%
- Study and train as needed to remain current as an instructor (and Examiner) pilot him/herself, remaining informed and up-to-date on the latest standards, procedures and regulations as applicable - 5%
- Be responsible to complete all required training paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion - 5%
- Assist in the ongoing development of AWTA curriculum, products and services - 4%
- Maintain and update training materials and publications. - 3%
- Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned - 3%
Qualifications for Position:
A. Education: Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Rating. 3000+ hrs Total Flight Time. CFI required CFII preferred.
B. Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience performing helicopter instruction and/or flying.
C. Competencies & Attributes:
- Instructor and/or examiner background in helicopters
- Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate
- Strong IFR experience and knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills and MS Office knowledge.
D. Licensure/Certification: FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter with Instrument Required. FAA CFI required CFII preferred
