Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking a qualified SIPRNet Support Systems Administrator to provide onsite support at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting secure Department of Defense (DoD) environments and maintaining classified network systems in compliance with DoD cybersecurity and operational requirements.

This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing SIPRNet systems and infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure mission operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite administration and support for SIPRNet systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot classified network systems, servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure operational availability and reliability of SIPRNet services.
  • Perform account management, access control, and system administration functions in accordance with DoD security policies.
  • Apply system patches, updates, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to maintain secure configurations.
  • Support vulnerability remediation efforts and assist with cybersecurity compliance activities.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues in classified environments.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with backup, recovery, and continuity of operations procedures.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and external support organizations to resolve technical issues.
  • Support inspections, audits, and RMF-related activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and organizational cybersecurity standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting SIPRNet or other classified DoD network environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server and workstation administration.
  • Experience with system patching, STIG implementation, and secure system configuration.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, account management, and enterprise IT support.
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies and best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at LAAFB.
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification such as Security+, CySA+, or CASP+.
  • Experience supporting Air Force or Space Force programs.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, backup systems, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience with RMF, ACAS, and vulnerability management processes.
