Sit Down Forklift Driver Warehouse

The Sit Down Forklift Driver Warehouse role involves safely and efficiently operating a forklift to transport goods within the storage facility. This position focuses on handling primarily fragile items, ensuring proper loading, unloading, and stacking according to inventory control instructions while maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards. The role operates mostly solo and occasionally requires overtime or weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods with care to preserve fragile items
• Move palletized goods around the warehouse efficiently
• Stack goods accurately in designated storage bays following inventory guidelines
• Check that loads are properly secured before transport
• Perform daily equipment inspections including battery recharge and lubrication
• Remove machine attachments and clear waste materials from equipment
• Examine products to verify they meet quality standards
• Operate forklift independently with attention to safety
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math, language, reading, and computer skills
• Strong focus on safety to prevent injury and promote a safe workplace
• Ability to follow operational instructions accurately and maintain records
• Forklift certification compliant with OSHA standards
• Clean driving record and valid state motor vehicle operator’s license (may be required)
• Ability to use RF scanner gun as needed
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical movements such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations
• Proven forklift operation skills
• High attention to detail
