Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 base salary plus annual bonus opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead the accounting and FP&A functions for our Westfield manufacturing facility. This highly visible leadership role serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership, helping drive financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term business success.
The Plant Controller will oversee all aspects of financial operations, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger management, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory and working capital management, audit coordination, and profitability analysis.
The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing finance expertise, a proactive leadership mindset, and a proven ability to partner with operations to deliver measurable business results.
This position works closely with plant leadership, operations teams, FP&A, and corporate finance to ensure accurate reporting, provide key business insights, and support strategic decision-making across the site.
What You'll Do
- Lead all site accounting and FP&A activities.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including general ledger oversight and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Oversee cost accounting activities, product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
- Partner with plant leadership to drive financial performance and support operational decision-making.
- Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Monitor key performance indicators and communicate results to plant and finance leadership.
- Drive improvements in working capital, inventory management, and material margin performance.
- Lead month-end variance analysis and provide insight into manufacturing performance and cost drivers.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies and financial controls.
- Prepare and present financial reports, business cases, and ad hoc analyses to leadership teams.
- Support capital investment decisions, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic projects.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and reporting capabilities across the facility.
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Plant Controller or senior manufacturing finance leadership experience preferred.
- Strong experience leading both accounting and FP&A functions.
Direct experience managing:
- Financial reporting and month-end close
- General ledger accounting
- Cost accounting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Audit coordination
- Financial analysis and business planning
- Proven ability to partner with Plant Managers and operations leaders to drive financial and operational results.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, working capital, and cost control.
- Experience supporting complex manufacturing environments, preferably within large-scale operations.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence decisions and effectively communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- Multi-site manufacturing experience.
- Proven track record of driving margin improvement and working capital optimization initiatives.
- ERP implementation or system enhancement experience.
- Experience presenting financial performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
