Role snapshot

  • Deliver precise monthly financials and explain the story behind the numbers.
  • Lead a high-performing accounting team through close, audits, and continuous improvement.
  • Make inventory and cost data reliable, timely, and decision-ready.

Primary deliverables

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and provide variance analysis to budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Partner with plant leadership to translate performance into margin, cost, and cash impacts; identify improvement opportunities.
  • Own the month-end close for the plant—accuracy, completeness, and timeliness are non-negotiable.
  • Oversee inventory accounting: physical counts, reconciliations, valuation, and root cause analysis of variances.
  • Support annual budgeting and interim forecasting with data-driven assumptions.
  • Review general ledger activity, perform account reconciliations, and maintain robust supporting documentation.
  • Assist with year-end close, external audit requests, and compliance activities.
  • Continuously improve processes, reporting, and internal controls for efficiency and rigor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, the Quality Management System (QMS), and Environmental Management System (EMS).

People leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; set priorities and manage workload.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Coach and train the team to elevate technical skills and business understanding.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations; promote accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3–7+ years in accounting/finance; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and close processes.
  • Experience in inventory accounting and cost analysis.
  • Advanced Excel with proficiency in Office; ERP experience preferred.
