    Description

    Lead a High-Throughput Ice Operation

Reddy Ice is building North America’s Total Ice Solution. As Site Director, you will be the change agent who turns strategy into safe, repeatable execution across production, logistics, and delivery—while owning the site P&L and elevating people, process, and performance.

    A day in the life

Start with a floor walk to review overnight performance, product quality, and equipment readiness. Huddle with your supervisors to align on safety priorities and customer orders. Scan your P&L dashboard, validate CPU trends, and align corrective actions. Join a quick Kaizen to remove waste on a packaging line. Check the DVM board (DNS, SAS, OOS), confirm driver schedules and DOT compliance, and debrief on delivery execution. In the afternoon, review preventive maintenance progress, verify PSM/RMP and HACCP task completion, and connect with the Market Manager on capital priorities. End the day coaching a high-potential supervisor and recognizing wins that reflect our True North attributes—voice of the customer, respect for the individual, candid, fact-based communication, servant leadership, and continuous improvement.

    What you will lead

    • Financial stewardship: Track P&L metrics; support planning and analysis; help build capex and sales forecasts; review/approve invoices and expenses; manage budgets toward monthly/annual sales and profit targets; evaluate and implement capital projects that improve efficiency; partner with the Market Manager on financial reports and course-corrective plans.
    • Continuous improvement: Champion a performance-driven culture; actively apply lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3) to reduce CPU, elevate quality, and improve delivery; assess production, logistics, and manufacturing processes for efficiency gains; build business cases and lead approved implementations.
    • Operations excellence: Oversee all plant manufacturing and logistics; ensure orders are fulfilled on time and on budget; hold the team to operating plans and standards; maintain site programs including PSM/RMP and HACCP; sustain and refine the preventive maintenance program; serve as incident commander/responder for any hazmat leak or spill.
    • Delivery execution: Hire, train, schedule, and develop DSD drivers (directly or via Distribution Supervisors); manage delivery performance and scorecards; ensure safe, efficient execution for DSD, transport, and special events; manage driver check-in; drive compliance for DQ files, hours of service, DVIR, and incident documentation; oversee handhelds, fuel cards, and fleet.
    • Safety leadership: Prioritize a zero-harm culture; track and communicate safety metrics; investigate incidents and ensure timely, accurate documentation.
    • People and culture: Plan staffing for efficiency; set clear performance standards and use performance management processes; run effective staff meetings; coach and develop supervisors; mentor top talent and build succession plans; partner with HR to execute people practices on time; cultivate strong employee relations.
    • Customer focus and growth: Support existing business and enable new business through reliable operations, superior service, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Purchasing.
