Description:
One of my highly reputable clients in the DMV is looking to add a solid Estimator to their team. This client of mine is known for their strong employee retention and does a lot of company gatherings. It is actually one of my clients that I really enjoy working with.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in Civil Engineering to accurately estimate project costs for Heavy Highway and Road construction ventures.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop detailed cost proposals and bid documents.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform cost estimations and maintain competitive pricing.
- Evaluate alternative construction methods and materials to optimize cost-efficiency and project feasibility.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations to assess project scope and requirements accurately.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven track record as a Civil Estimator in Heavy Highway/Bridge and/or Site Development background
- Proficiency in construction estimation software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project specifications and drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, cost control principles, and regulatory requirements related to Heavy Highway and Road construction.
