Site HR Manager

Role Summary:

This role reports to the CHRO for the company. The HR Team consists of site HR Managers as well as resources supporting benefits, payroll and leave administration. As the Mazomanie, WI site HR Manager, you have responsibility for all the day-to-day HR activities at the plant as well as partnering with the respective leaders to drive improvements. The plant has around 300 team members and continues to grow.

This is an opportunity for someone who likes a variety of HR related activities that are both tactical and strategic. You will be the main person to respond to employee questions and resolve issues, ensure consistency and policy adherence, and hire team members. You will partner with plant leaders and other HR staff members related to training & development needs, organizational structure, and other initiatives that will help us achieve operating plan objectives.

A successful candidate is a collaborative, proactive and analytical HR leader who can bring creative and practical solutions to the HR team, leaders, and local team members. This role needs a person with a track record of assessing situations and providing solutions that add value for the site. A critical part of this role is being able to interact and relate to all levels of team members which will include spending time walking the shop floor and occasionally providing relief as one of our core values is being a dependable doer. This is an on-site role requiring the willingness and ability to support 2nd and 3rd shift team members as needed.

Accountable for:

• Ensuring alignment and consistency in our HR processes i.e., compensation planning, performance monitoring, corrective actions related to behaviors, training and development, advancement through stages of shop floor roles, and policy enforcement.
• Ensuring effective talent management including recruitment, assessment and development as the organization grows. Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee/departmental training needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work.
• Coaching team members and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance and discipline in line with business culture and legal environment.
• Driving employee engagement and satisfaction through promotion of a positive team member experience.
• Consulting with functional leaders in areas such as organizational assessment, succession planning, organizational structure, work force planning, and change management in order to strengthen overall organizational capability.
• Maintain and optimize site HR compliance protocol and practices. Application of relevant US, and state employment laws and other human resources compliance issues, as well as remaining current on these topics. Provide insight on necessary updates to existing policy structure.
• Expectation of interacting regularly with front line team members which includes walking and spending time on the floor, filling in for packers and inspectors when breaks need to be given, performing regular climate checks with team members, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years of related experience in an HR role as the lead HR for a manufacturing client group and location.

Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior

Keeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working successfully in a fast paced, autonomous manufacturing environment

Experience operating as sole HR practitioner at a site is strongly desired

Experience supporting change management efforts.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of seated work
• Frequent keyboard use/data entry
• Frequent time on the production floor is required - standing/walking/wearing PPE
