You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of site staff at a manufacturing site. You will own the Site IT roadmap aligned with Regional IT and Local management.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

• To lead, coach and develop the team of Site IT Engineers and Administrators based at the manufacturing site. • The services provided by his/her team cover renewal and problem solving of PCs, laptops, servers, Microsoft Office and E-mail and all related activity to support the Local IT systems to a high level of user service and satisfaction. • The role carries a high level of impact involving support up to 250 users at the site. • Required to show considerable creativity in utilization of hardware and software resources. • Expected to work with the business management to look at improvements for systems and processes to improve the service and to save cost by implementing innovative technology and smarter ways of working. • To have both technical and line management experience to be able to supervise a small team of IT staff at the site. Ensure all members of the team have the right skills and technical qualification to fulfil the role successfully.

 

This involves coaching and mentoring staff members of varying levels of ability (high level and experienced at a large site and possibly lower level / junior at a small site). Managing the team will involve assigning tasks, monitoring performance against SLAs dealing with minor discipline issues and involvement in recruitment and selection process.

 

Work with Site IT Engineers and Administrators on projects which could vary from local infrastructure or system upgrades (e.g. manufacturing system) to Group IT driven changes to core services like the network. The number of IT projects is high and complexity varies from medium to high, length of project varies from 2 weeks to 6 months of throughput time on a wide scale of activities, such as: implementing cloud servers and applications, phone systems, network upgrades, upgrade of factory system, annual computing refresh, developing small local workflows and a wide scale of activities.

 

This work involves a high level of planning and organizational ability and good communication and leadership skills. There is a regular need to make decisions within such projects and ensure that such decisions are communicated as part of a formal change control process. Major decisions are referred to the Country IT Manager.

 

High-level problem-solving skills are needed on a regular basis during such implementations which involve complex IT hardware and software set up and operation.

 

Expected to work closely with the Country IT Manager to develop and implement processes and procedures which are then rolled out and followed within each country.

 

To influence site management teams to ensure IT policies are supported and followed upon.

 

To have meetings and negotiations with local service providers and IT suppliers to ensure best possible service.

 

To provide annual IT budget for site of responsibility and to create capex for IT refresh and local projects.

 

There is a requirement to be on call at times, travel away from home and show a high degree of flexibility.
