Site Manager – Structural Steel Construction (Traveling)

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee field operations on structural steel construction projects across the United States. This role serves as the primary on-site representative, coordinating with clients, erectors, and project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a 100% travel position requiring extended stays at project sites nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site coordination, scheduling, and project meetings.
  • Manage structural steel erection activities and coordinate with erectors, clients, and other trades.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to communicate project progress, milestones, and jobsite issues.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and maintain accurate delivery logs.
  • Prepare daily reports and track project schedules and productivity.
  • Document and manage field change notices (FCNs), fabrication issues, detailing discrepancies, and erection challenges.
  • Coordinate design revisions, field modifications, and change orders.
  • Promote a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA and AISC standards.
  • Maintain a strong field presence and build positive relationships with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, or field management.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel erection practices and sequencing.
  • Working knowledge of AISC standards and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or other construction management software is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and remain on project sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as project demands require.
