About this role:

The Site Psychiatric Services Director leads and oversees the clinical operations of the site psychiatry team while also providing psychiatric services to incarcerated patients. This role balances clinical leadership with direct patient care, with time allocation guided by regional and site leadership. The position ensures psychiatric services meet contractual requirements and comply with applicable state and federal laws. The Site Psychiatric Services Director works closely with multidisciplinary partners to promote consistent, high-quality psychiatric care at the site.

Education

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from accredited university.
  • Psychiatry training from an ACMG-accredited residency program.

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population required; experience providing psychiatric services to an adolescent population preferred for facilities that include incarcerated youth/adolescents.
  • At least one year’s corrections experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of employment
  • Board-certified in psychiatry
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current BLS certification
What you will do:
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to psychiatry team members and support mental health leadership as needed.
  • Deliver psychiatric services using evidence-based practices, including evaluation, treatment, medication management, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with regional, site, and multidisciplinary leadership to ensure uniform psychiatric and mental health services.
  • Oversee clinical documentation, referrals, consultations, and coordination of care in accordance with policies and guidelines.
  • Support staffing activities, including onboarding, interviews, on-call coverage, training, meetings, and quality and compliance initiatives.
