Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. This role involves enterprise-level administration, support, and automation to ensure the stability and performance of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SDLC practices, proactive monitoring, and resolving issues within a complex, distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-level administration and support.
• Write automation scripts and build application dashboards for proactive monitoring using tools like Grafana, Influx, Datadog, and Moog.
• Set up alerts for early determination of issues.
• Practice and improve Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Perform enterprise systems administration, monitoring, and deployment activities.
• Administer, troubleshoot, and tune Linux and Windows systems.
• Proactively own, communicate, and follow-through on projects and issues.
• Resolve problems in a distributed environment with a strong sense of ownership.

Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.

Experience: A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in enterprise-level administration and support is required. This includes 6-8 years of experience writing automation scripts and practicing SDLC process improvements.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Windows 2016, 2019, and 2022 hosted via Virtual Machine.
• Knowledge of IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and IP routing.
• Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Development experience in one or more programming languages such as .Net, C#, PowerShell, YAML, Java, Python, or Bash.
• Knowledge of one or more database systems, including SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or Postgres.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Influx, Datadog, Moog, or ThousandEyes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
