Job Summary
  • We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Project Coordinator with a strong background in SRE practices, automation, incident management, change management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • The ideal candidate will serve as the Project Point of Contact (POC), supporting project planning, execution, operational activities, documentation, and delivery.
  • This role requires a highly organized professional with strong communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams, project stakeholders, and business partners to identify issues, drive resolution, track deliverables, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Project Point of Contact (POC) and coordinate project activities across teams and stakeholders.
  • Support project planning, execution, tracking, and successful delivery.
  • Prepare and provide regular project status updates, reporting, and progress summaries.
  • Coordinate and manage change management activities, ensuring appropriate communication, tracking, and documentation.
  • Participate in and coordinate incident management activities, including issue tracking, escalation, communication, and resolution.
  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and drive timely resolution.
  • Support automation initiatives, process improvements, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project, operational, and technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain documentation using Microsoft Office 365 tools.
  • Track project deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, and action items.
  • Ensure proper communication and coordination across project teams.
  • Monitor project activities and follow up with stakeholders to ensure commitments and deliverables are completed.
  • Assist with operational processes and activities aligned with SRE best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, automation, and operational processes.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Experience with automation tools, automation processes, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding and experience with incident management and change management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and project-management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and managing documentation using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience managing projects, tracking deliverables, and providing regular status updates.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple technical and business teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Approximately 6+ years of overall professional experience preferred, with relevant experience considered.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a large enterprise or federal/government environment.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical projects.
  • Familiarity with IT service management and operational processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and automation programs.
  • Strong ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with distributed teams.
 
On-Call Requirement
  • Participation in an on-call rotation approximately once every 4–5 weeks is required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable supporting incident response and operational activities during their assigned on-call rotation.
 
Location Requirement
  • Candidates should be located near one of the designated 12 federal locations associated with the project.
  • Local and nearby candidates are strongly preferred based on project requirements.
  • Specific location requirements may be confirmed during the interview/recruitment process.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • The ideal candidate is a technically strong SRE professional who also has excellent project coordination and stakeholder-management capabilities. They should be comfortable balancing technical troubleshooting, automation, incident/change management, documentation, and project coordination while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience.
 
Highly Preferred Education/Experience:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities:
Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area.
  • General knowledge of System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.
 
Communications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.
  • Effectively communicates with clients and other resources to update and maintain progress status. Provide input / status updates to senior leadership and executives during project design, build, and testing phases.
 
Automation & Toil Reduction
  • Demonstrating a proven track record of identifying repetitive manual tasks and implementing automation solutions to streamline workflows, reduce operational burden, and improve productivity.
 
Incident Management & On-Call Practices
  • Applying best practices in incident response, including proactive monitoring, rapid triage, and effective communication during on-call rotations. Ensuring that incidents are managed efficiently to minimize impact and restore services quickly.
  • Actively resolves and tracks the completion of events, changes, problems, incidents, and requests within appropriate process guidelines.
  • Coordinates business requirements and scope, and participates in cross-functional teams to ensure product adherence to business requirements.
  • Leading efforts to diagnose and resolve complex production issues. Conducting thorough post-mortem analyses to identify root causes, document lessons learned, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
 
Reliability Engineering (SRE/DevOps/Systems Engineering)
  • Leveraging experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering to build and maintain robust systems.
  • This includes designing for reliability, scalability, and maintainability, as well as collaborating across teams to drive operational improvements.
 
Security Best Practices
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of security principles and integrating them into operational processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards, proactively identifying vulnerabilities, and fostering a culture of secure operations.
 
Decision Making:
  • Works under direction and guidance in planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives. Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards. Achieving assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Experience w/ Agile methodology following SAFe.
  • On-Call rotation will be required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
