A vacancy has arisen to join Billington Structures Ltd (Wombwell) as a Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Hours of work: 40 per week

Our experienced workforce can tackle projects from simple building frames to the most complex structures. With plants in Barnsley South Yorkshire, we have the capability to process 50,000 tonnes of steel per annum, and are able to service clients at locations throughout the UK and Europe.

Role Purpose

We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias responsible for the following...

• • The Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across the site. The role focuses on delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding effectively to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.

Role Responsibilities

• • Electrical qualification
• • Electrical & mechanical fault finding.
• • Read mechanical & electrical drawings.
• • Change bearings and gears.
• • Have knowledge of and the ability to maintain/repair. o Overhead cranes and Jibs. o Plasma cutting machinery. o Gas cutting machinery. o Saw/drilling machinery. o Welders/grinders. o Forklifts and Sideloaders.
• • Must be able to work on your own initiative when needed and show a willingness and desire to see jobs through.
• • Ability to work in and adhere to Health and Safety procedures and work instructions
• • Organise and control subcontractors.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• • An experienced individual with a background in electrical engineering.
• • NVQ level 3 in electrical or equivalent.
• • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
