A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to lead field safety efforts across major Denver-area construction projects.

You'll serve as a highly visible safety leader on active jobsites, working directly with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and company safety personnel to identify risks, maintain regulatory compliance, conduct training, and strengthen the safety culture from project kickoff through completion.

Projects range from fast-paced tenant improvements to major $100M+ ground-up commercial developments.

What You'll Do

• Lead onsite construction safety activities and serve as a primary field safety resource

• Conduct routine and targeted jobsite safety inspections

• Lead new-hire and site-specific safety orientations

• Identify hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices and drive corrective action

• Conduct and document accident, incident, and near-miss investigations

• Maintain required safety documentation, reports, and regulatory records

• Support employee and subcontractor training on safety policies, procedures, and regulations

• Participate in OSHA inspections, including documentation, site walk-throughs, responses, and corrective measures

• Attend project kickoff meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives

• Develop and communicate project-specific safety expectations

• Advise project leadership regarding safety risks, incidents, and compliance

• Stay current on OSHA requirements and changes to federal, state, and local regulations

• Recommend improvements to company safety programs, policies, and training

• Partner with supervisors and field leadership to strengthen jobsite safety performance

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of general construction experience with a strong emphasis on construction or industrial safety

• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards

• Experience conducting jobsite inspections, safety training, incident investigations, and corrective actions

• Ability to confidently communicate with craft professionals, subcontractors, project managers, superintendents, and executives

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

• Solid documentation and organizational skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency

• Ability to work primarily from active construction sites and job trailers

Preferred Qualifications

• BCSP certification or other recognized safety certification

• Electrical construction or electrical safety experience

• Experience supporting large-scale commercial or ground-up construction projects
