Site Safety Coordinator – Temporary – Six-Month Assignment

Hohl Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator for a temporary assignment expected to last at least six months, with the potential to continue somewhat longer based on project needs.This is a hands-on, field-focused safety role supporting an active project site. The Site Safety Coordinator will work closely with project leadership and field personnel to promote safe work practices, conduct safety inspections and observations, support training and orientations, identify and address potential hazards, and help ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.Approximately 80% of this position will be spent in the field, working directly with site personnel and leadership.What You'll DoSite Safety & Field SupportServe as the primary day-to-day safety professional on the assigned job site.Participate in job planning meetings and help incorporate appropriate safety measures into daily work activities.Work closely with project leadership to promote proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).Assist with accident and near-miss investigations.Identify and communicate safety concerns, hazards, and instances of non-compliance to the Director of Safety and site-specific Project Management.Provide practical, field-based recommendations to help address identified safety hazards.Training & Safety OrientationAssist with delivering weekly safety talks in an engaging and understandable manner.Ensure safety meeting attendance is complete and maintain accurate documentation.Conduct job-specific safety training as needed, including topics such as:Forklift and aerial lift operationFall protectionConfined space entryOther site-specific safety requirementsCoordinate owner-required orientations and training programs.Verify training attendance and documentation required for site access.Site Audits & CompliancePerform regular safety inspections and field observations based on project scope and duration.Evaluate and document compliance with safety requirements involving:JSA/Daily Work PlansSDS sheets and required job-site postingsHASP and emergency contact informationMobile equipment qualifications and inspection recordsPPE usageWalking and working surfaces, housekeeping, and site accessRigging and hoisting operations, including lift plans, crane inspections, and required qualificationsFall protection systemsHand and power toolsCompressed gas storageScaffold safetyFire extinguisher availabilityHot work and confined space permitsFirst aid kits and caution/danger tapeConfined space entry proceduresWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have strong construction safety experience and the ability to work confidently and effectively in an active field environment.Required QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of construction-related safety experience, including experience with areas such as:Cranes and riggingConfined spaceWelding and hot workSteel erectionFall protectionOSHA 30 certificationValid driver's license with a clean driving recordStrong knowledge of OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulationsAbility to identify hazards and recommend practical solutions in the fieldStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, site leadership, contractors, clients, and other external contactsAbility to read and write effectively in EnglishBasic mathematical and analytical skillsComputer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and OutlookPreferred QualificationsCSM and/or CHST certificationExperience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectFamiliarity with specialized construction-related software such as CAD, SDS/2, or Tekla StructuresWork EnvironmentThis is a field-intensive position in active plant construction areas. The work environment may be dirty, non-climate-controlled, difficult to access, and may involve inherent safety risks.
