Site Safety Manager

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer, Quality Control Manager in San Diego, CA. With customers in over 100 countries served by more than 50,000 employees, our client achieved sales of around €9 billion in fiscal year 2022/2023. We ensure high levels of customer service globally from our extensive network of about 1,000 locations. Over the past several decades, our client has established itself as one of the world’s leading elevator companies. The company’s most important business line is the service business proudly provided by around 25,000 service technicians. The product portfolio ranges from standardized elevators for low-rise residential buildings to highly customized solutions for skyscrapers. In addition, it covers escalators, moving walks, passenger boarding bridges and stair and platform lifts. Integrated cloud-based solutions, such as the MAX platform, are delivering enhanced services.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer Safety Program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan onsite while work is being performed.
• Manage, communicate, and enforce compliance with Safety Program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan. Serves as a technical leader in the realm of workplace safety, in support of leadership and all employees.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company, federal/state, and local safety standards.
• Develop, administer, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies.
• Coordinate accident prevention initiatives.
• Shape positive and proactive safety culture.
• Participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings.
• Follows up on job schedules, delays on published schedules, approved delays, executed contract delays, and change order approval delays.
• Participates in on-site coordination and construction meetings. Acts as point of contact for coordination.
• Ensures coordination and construction meetings are held on a weekly basis and that personnel are prepared.
• Maintains awareness of project progress through communication with all parties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree within an EHS discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of experience working as a safety professional, preferred within elevator industry or general contractor or equivalent role for a major subcontractor. Or 3+ year experience with CSP or Bachelor’s degree within an EHS discipline. 3+ years preparing and enforcing Quality Management System programs.
• Experience preparing and enforcing safety programs.
• OSHA 30- hour construction safety class or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products effectively.
