Site Safety Manager (SSM)

The Site Safety Manager (SSM) administers and ensures compliance with the Project's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities and will work to ensure all employees uphold the core value of safety by implementing and maintaining construction site safety programs. The goal is to minimize the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries, as well as reducing the risk to health and environment. The successful Site Safety Manager will develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management, and outside agencies during all phases of construction operations. This position requires the ability to develop safety topics, facilitate safety meetings, and train employees on safety & compliance. We welcome experienced safety professionals as well as entry-level and developing candidates who bring the necessary certifications, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, contribute, and grow within the team.Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:Works to align work practices with safety policiesUpholds the core safety values of the organizationCommunicates safety and health information at employee meetingsTrains field crews and employees on safety expectationsInvestigates incidents, injuries, damage to property or other safety related concernsCompletes incident reports, OSHA required documentation and other client reportsCritically assesses and evaluates hazards, as well as taking corrective actions in the momentDocuments findings including Root Cause AnalysisCommunicates with leadership and field personnel the investigation findings and recommendations for how to prevent reoccurrencesVerifies corrective measures have been completedProactively suggests safety improvements, process improvements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep people safe in all facets of workDevelops and maintains programs to encourage safety suggestions from others, improvements to working conditions that may impact safety, and processes that respect safety needsObserves workers and evaluates job activities to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, clothing, harnesses and other PPEInspects new processes, materials, tools, substances and equipment to identify hazards before an issue occursDevelops positive, professional relationships with field personnel, all levels of leadership, outside agencies, and the general publicOther duties as assigned or prudentBasic Qualifications:Candidate must have knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA laws and regulationsAble to travel regularly with overnights as neededStrong interpersonal & problem-solving skillsMust be able to work productively with limited direct supervisionMust pass background check and drug screeningPositive attitude with a strong willingness to learn, contribute, and grow within the team — entry‑level and developing candidates with the necessary certifications are encouraged to applyPreferred Experience/Credentials:Degree in Safety, or related fieldProfessional Safety Certification: CSP, ASP, CUSP, COSS, CSST, or equivalentConstruction Experience (substation, transmission line, distribution, solar farm, data center, chemical/refinery plant, etc.)Job Experience (Safety professional, Safety Manager, Construction Manager, Construction Foreman, Lineman, Lineman Foreman, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
