Site Safety Officer

Staffworks Group is seeking an experienced professional Site Safety Officer (SSO) to oversee and enforce safety regulations on federal or government sites

Job Title: Site Safety Officer (SSO)

MUST HAVE U.S. ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS CQM-C CERTIFICATE

MUST HAVE SSO CERTIFICATION & OSHA 30 TO BE CONSIDERED.

Location:Leeds, MA

Pay: $50-55hr.

This job is looking for LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.

**Hours: **Monday – Friday/1st Shift/Contract Job 6+ Months/NO Per Diem/No Additional Travel cost.

What you will be working on:

• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, including accident reports and training records.
• Provide safety training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all workers comply with PPE requirements and other safety regulations.
• Communicate safety concerns and improvements with management and workers.
• Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and government agencies to maintain a safe work environment.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or industrial safety and federal or government job sites
• OSHA 30-Hour required
• Must have SSHO Certification to comply with requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• First Aid/CPR certification
