Shirley Parsons is partnered with a leading organization to identify a Site Safety Representative to support a large-scale distribution center project in the Chicago area. This individual will serve as the primary safety representative on site, responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance across all contractors and project teams.Location: Chicago, ILStart Date: ASAPEstimated End Date: July 2027Schedule: 40 hours per weekKey Responsibilities:Lead and enforce site-wide safety programs in alignment with OSHA and company standardsConduct daily site inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)Facilitate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for field personnelInvestigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; implement corrective actionsPartner with project management and subcontractors to proactively identify and mitigate risksMaintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance recordsServe as the main point of contact for all safety-related matters on siteDevelop and implement site-specific safety plans, policies, and proceduresReview and approve subcontractor safety plans, JHAs, and method statements prior to work activitiesMonitor high-risk activities such as confined space entry, fall protection, crane operations, and electrical workLead incident review meetings and track corrective actions to closureEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and client-specific requirementsConduct safety performance evaluations and provide coaching to supervisors and field teamsTrack and report key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses) to project leadershipSupport pre-construction planning by identifying potential safety risks and recommending mitigation strategiesCoordinate with third-party inspectors, auditors, and client safety representatives during site visitsEnforce PPE requirements and ensure proper use of safety equipment across all tradesAssist with emergency response planning, drills, and on-site incident managementPromote a proactive safety culture through engagement, recognition programs, and behavioral-based safety initiativesQualifications:At least 2 years of construction safety experience, specifically on data center projectsStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practicesExperience working in union environments is a plusBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusOSHA 30 required; CHST or higher certification preferredProven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence teams in a fast-paced environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
