Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Site Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, incident investigation, job hazard analysis, and workers compensation case management. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees by establishing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, as well as complying with all federal, state, and local safety regulations. Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.
2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
3. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and to determine how they might be prevented in the future.
4. Conduct job hazard analysis to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
5. Manage workers compensation cases, including reporting, tracking, and follow-up.
6. Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate employees about safety procedures, laws, and practices.
7. Maintain knowledge of updates and changes to OSHA regulations and ensure company compliance.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and manage all safety-related inquiries and inspections.
9. Prepare and submit safety reports to management, detailing safety statistics, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
10. Foster a safety culture within the organization by promoting and practicing safety awareness and compliance at all levels.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction safety role.
3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction safety standards and OSHA 510 certification.
5. Proven experience in incident investigation, job hazard analysis, and workers compensation case management.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety concepts and regulations to all levels of the organization.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Ability to travel as needed to various job sites.
