    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Site Superintendent is directly responsible for overseeing the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The Site Superintendent is responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Project dependent.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the inspection of Contractor or (Sub) Contract operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Maintains healthy relationships with our internal and external clients, including representatives of the client for the projects.
    • Develops and maintains site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Managers.
    • Conducts quality safety inspections.
    • Takes on the role of Site Safety while on the project.
    • Coordinates site testing and inspection efforts.
    • Monitors costs, including labor time and material.
    • Manages employees' schedules.
    • Prepares and submits Daily Reports to the designated client representatives.
    • Attends and participates in all project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
    • Conducts weekly safety meetings (Toolbox Talks).
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good math and accounting skills.
    • Strong management skills (able to manage multiple crews on multiple projects).
    • Delegates work appropriately to other Site Supervisors, as applicable.
    • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Tight documentation discipline (submittals, QA/QC, closeout packages).
    • Must be a self-starter.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related construction software's.
    • Strong ability to read construction drawings, specifications, schedules and have strong decision-making skills.
    • Ability to supervise multiple trades and maintain quality control of varied government construction projects per plans and specifications provided.

    Education & Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Community College, Trade School or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
    • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in a superintendent role in commercial construction.
    • Experience working with the Veterans Affairs Hospitals, Federal, or on Government Projects.
    • Experience managing subcontractors under strict federal specifications and timelines.
    • Commissioning & startup experience (HVAC systems, generators, security systems, SCADA if applicable).
    • General Contractor (GC) License and Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification preferred.
    • Prior military experience preferred.
    • OSHA 30-hour certification required.
    • First Aid/CPR certification required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on-site.
    • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
    • Manual dexterity and physical stamina for handling tools and equipment.
    • Travel may be required.

    Work Environment:

    • Work is performed on construction sites.
    • Exposure to external weather conditions that can include inclement, heat, and humidity.
    • Exposure to construction site environments, including noise, dust, and machinery.

    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on-site.
