A Childcare Center Site Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for directing all operations at a single location, including staff supervision, curriculum coordination, and ensuring compliance with licensing regulations. They bridge the gap between administration and classroom instruction, focusing on high-quality care, staff development, and parent communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Leadership: Mentoring teachers, providing feedback, conducting evaluations, and overseeing classroom staff and volunteers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and health/safety standards.
- Curriculum Development: Coordinating developmentally appropriate curriculum and ensuring quality instruction.
- Operations Management: Handling daily routines, scheduling, enrollment, and administrative tasks.
- Family Engagement: Addressing parent inquiries and building positive relationships.
Qualifications (Typical for California)
- Education: Typically requires an Associate’s degree (or 60 units) with at least 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE)/Child Development (CD) units.
- Specific Training: Usually requires 6 semester units in administration and 2 units in adult supervision.
- Experience: requires at least 350 days of experience (working 3+ hours per day) within 4 years,.
