Job Summary:

Position Title: Site Supervisor III/ Life Support/ Water Quality Helper
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 87102
Duration: 02 year
Work Schedule: Full-time; Generally from 8 am to 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday. Occasional short periods of weekend, holiday and evening work may be required.
Pay rate: $14.00/hr.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Learning about all aspects of Life Support and Water Quality
• Working with and/or around a variety of aquatic animal species including, koi, sharks, polar bears, penguins, elephants, hippos, alligators, and others
• Assist with aquatic life support systems such as pumps, filters, valves, and any other related equipment
• Testing and analysis of water quality
• Aquatic clean up
• General maintenance around the facility (Tingley Beach, Aquarium, Zoo, and Botanic Gardens)
• Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Some knowledge or background in maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, or related areas.
• Basic knowledge of record keeping and documentation.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Be comfortable working alone
• Have a friendly and open personality and enjoy working with a diverse cross section of individuals from a variety of departments at all levels of government and job positions
• Be punctual and a good self-starter
• Be a good team player
• Be comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions

Q ualifications:

• Applicants must be 18 years or older and physically able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in and around water, in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, on slippery or uneven surfaces, and may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, heat, cold and/or inclement weather conditions.
  Candidates must pass a security background check to be hire
• Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, push, pull, read, write, and speak English.
