    Location: Birmingham, AL

    Client- Alabama Power

    Travel Requirement: Up to 25%

    Experience Level:

    0–5 Years of Related Experience
    Education: Technical degree preferred

    Job Summary:

    The Sitework Designer  is responsible for developing 3D models and design drawings to support site grading and drainage projects for power generation and industrial facilities. The role includes supporting conceptual layouts, reviewing vendor drawings, and contributing to material takeoffs and preliminary cost estimates. This position offers exposure to a variety of engineering and construction disciplines with opportunities to grow in a collaborative project team environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Produce accurate and detailed 3D models and sitework design drawings for grading and drainage.

    • Prepare layouts and conceptual sitework designs under the guidance of senior designers or engineers.

    • Review and interpret vendor drawings to ensure integration with site design.

    • Assist in preparing material takeoffs and preliminary cost estimates.

    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and design standards.

    • Participate in site visits and field reviews as needed to gather data and verify conditions.

    • Collaborate with plant personnel, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • 0–5 years of experience in civil/sitework design or related discipline.

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

    • Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Civil 3D) is preferred.

    • Familiarity with environmental regulations such as GA-EPD, ADEM, MDEQ, Florida DEP is a plus.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical guidance.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors.

    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time for site visits and project support.
