    Sitework Engineer 3

    Location: Must reside within 1 hour of Birmingham, Al.
    Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 weeks in-office onboarding, then remote with 25% travel)
    Experience Required: 7–10 years
    Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (accredited)

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Sitework Engineer 3 to provide sitework engineering services and field support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site work and grading design, along with experience in hydrology calculations, erosion control measures, and construction material take-offs. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining safety standards and efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare sitework designs and calculations
    • Conduct site walk-downs and develop cost estimates & material take-offs
    • Ensure a safe work environment while incorporating safety into designs
    • Transition efficiently between multiple projects
    • Utilize technical writing skills and Microsoft Office Suite daily
    • Coordinate with teams on production design documents
    • Provide oversight for permitting requirements (municipal, ALDOT, environmental, etc.)
    • Perform earthwork calculations and retention pond design
    • Apply knowledge of environmental regulations (ADEM, MDEQ)
    • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil sitework design
    • Work closely with grading construction teams, design engineers, and customers

    Required Skills & Expertise:

    • Extensive knowledge/certification in erosion and sediment control measures
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for sitework design
    • Strong technical writing and communication skills
    • Previous sitework construction experience (e.g., grading work)
    • Ability to perform hydrology calculations and site balancing
    • Experience in cost estimating and construction material take-offs

    Work Conditions:

    • 25% travel required
    • Must live within 1 hour of the office
    • Initial 2 weeks in-office for onboarding, then remote work
