Civil Construction Sitework Estimator
Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in site development, earthwork, utility installation, paving, drainage, and infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey. With a strong reputation for quality execution and repeat business, the company continues to grow and is seeking an experienced estimator to support an expanding project pipeline.
Job Description
Due to continued growth and an increasing volume of private and public sitework projects, our client is seeking a skilled Civil Construction Sitework Estimator to join the team. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents for site development and civil construction projects
- Preparing detailed quantity takeoffs for excavation, grading, utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete work
- Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Developing accurate project budgets, proposals, and bid packages
- Identifying project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions
- Coordinating with operations, project management, and executive leadership throughout the bidding process
- Attending pre-bid meetings and maintaining relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Tracking awarded and lost bids to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness

The Successful Applicant
- 5+ years of estimating experience within civil construction, sitework, underground utilities, excavation, or heavy highway construction
- Strong understanding of site development practices, construction means and methods, and project costing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Local New Jersey market experience preferred
What's on Offer
- Competitive annual salary between $140,000 and $170,000 USD.
