The Wirt County Board of Education announces the following vacancy for the 2026-2027 school year:

DATE: June 29, 2026

POSITION: Sixth Grade Teacher, WCMS

CONTRACT: 200 days

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Meets requirements for certification in multi-subjects K-8 or K-6
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with school administrators, school personnel, and parents
• Ability to analyze student Benchmark and GSA results and develop an individualized instructional program to address the West Virginia College and Career Ready Standards which have not been mastered
• Demonstrates organizational and management skills
• Demonstrates ability to analyze student assessment other formative and summative data and provide appropriate intervention
• Educational philosophy compatible with the Wirt County Board of Education

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer tests and provide documentation of students' progress
• Participates in professional development opportunities
• Coordinate services with local agencies to provide quality instruction and services to students
• Other duties as assigned by principal

SUPERVISOR: Principal

SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
