POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Ski & Ride School Operations Supervisor at Arapahoe Basin, you’ll bridge the gap between business goals and on-snow stoke. Working alongside the leadership team, you will champion a culture of authenticity and excellence, ensuring every day in the Ski & Ride School is a day worth repeating.
WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Arapahoe Basin’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Hourly pay range: $22.75 - $30.75/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Daily supervision of 25+ pros which includes prepping the Kids Center, printing tickets, running line up, distributing classes, etc.
Scheduling a staff of 60+ to ensure the Snow Sports School is set-up to meet business volumes
Enforce and support company and department policies and procedures
Coach, support, and evaluate pros
Oversee Ski & Ride School daily operations; assign staff to daily duties; modify daily plan as necessary to meet daily departmental financial goals
Independently develop and drive business opportunities to enhance the guest experience
Lead and develop a guest-centered culture that supports A-Basin’s vision and strategy
Assist in department recruitment, hiring, training, and development of policies and procedures
Conduct instructor observations and appraisals
Record instructor discussions, which may include corrective actions
Fulfill and schedule private and group lessons/tickets in RTP and Flaik
Follow all department sustainability guidelines as expected
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 3 years of previous Snowsports instruction
Previous supervisory experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to effectively and efficiently use scheduling and inventory software (RTP and Flaik)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, guest-service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed while performing multiple tasks
Must be available on weekends and holidays
Must provide own ski or snowboard equipment and other necessary gear to work outside in a high-alpine, snowy, and cold environment
This position requires successful completion of a background check
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current with PSIA-AASI, Level 1 Certification and CS1
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times while standing or skiing
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, squat, crawl, push, pull, throw, and stretch
Ability to ski at an advanced level for up to 3 hours per shift

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position will work outdoors in a high-alpine environment in all types of weather conditions. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked and loud area in view of guests. This role involved continuous guest interaction: face-to-face, over the phone, and by email. This position occasionally works in an indoor environment.
