Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct business analysis to support the Business Development department.Support process improvements and project deliverables.Research potential market trends.Assist in special projects in the Business Development department.Assist with ad‑hoc reporting and other tasks.Internship Overview As an Operations & Business Development Associate intern, you will gain hands‑on exposure to operational execution, capture management, proposal development, and federal growth strategies. You will be trained to support client delivery, operational execution, and growth activities within the Air Force and broader DoD market. You will shadow senior leadership and actively contribute to operational planning, customer engagement preparation, business development pipeline activities, capture and proposal efforts, and internal strategy development. Upon completion, you will be prepared to transition into a full‑time role supporting federal operations and growth initiatives similar to a senior program manager or senior director.Minimum Requirements Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a college degree in a related field.Must have completed a minimum of 2 years of coursework.Ability to perform comfortably in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented work environment.Skilled in standard computer applications and platforms such as Outlook and MS Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Excel.Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities with superior attention to detail.Length of Program 31-45 Days (6 Weeks)Program Schedule Week 1: Introduction to the Maximus Organization – understanding Maximus' history, values, federal customer base, lines of business, service and solution offerings, internal functional lanes, and key contacts.Week 2: Maximus Operations & Federal Business Overview – learning how Maximus structures and executes federal contracts, operational delivery models, governance structures, customer engagement approaches, and mission‑focused support.Week 3: Business Development Fundamentals – identifying and evaluating key stakeholders, systems, workflows, and processes used to identify, qualify, and position new business opportunities.Week 4: Capture & Proposal Support – understanding capture management and proposal development processes, program objectives, customer requirements, solution approaches, and roles across the capture and proposal lifecycle.Week 5: Operational Planning & Growth Alignment – applying operational planning principles, staffing models, and risk considerations to support new business pursuits, recompetes, and growth opportunities.Week 6: Strategic Growth & Transition Planning – evaluating operational performance, customer relationships, and delivery outcomes to inform long‑term growth strategies; developing a transition plan and capstone brief.EEO Statement Maximus is an equal‑opportunity employer.
