Note: This position is being advertised within the identified Career Pathway; however, staffing assignments are subject to student enrollment, program needs, and district priorities. The successful candidate may be required to teach courses or fulfill instructional responsibilities within other areas of the Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) cluster or a closely related field, as determined by the District.
Position Summary: The Plant Science Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in Plant Science and/or related agricultural courses while creating a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment. The successful candidate will prepare students for postsecondary education and careers in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, and related industries through classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and real-world applications.
This position requires collaboration with students, families, staff, business and industry partners, and community organizations to support student achievement and program growth. The teacher will serve as the school's FFA Advisor, promote student leadership and career development opportunities, maintain instructional facilities and equipment, and support work-based learning experiences. The Plant Science Teacher will also lead efforts to expand and strengthen the pathway through student recruitment, advisory committee engagement, industry partnerships, and continuous program improvement.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually according to the Board's policy on professional personnel evaluation.
Terms of Employment: Twelve month (12) full-time employee.
Salary and Benefits: Salary and Benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with Board of Education Policy for 12-month staff.
