Intermediate District 287 is looking for a full-time Skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker in our West Education Center located in Minnetonka, MN!
The Skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker coordinates and leads facility maintenance, cleaning, and security operations to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment across district properties. The role provides daily guidance to custodial staff and contractors, manages supply inventory, manages HVAC and safety/alarm systems, and handles event setups and vendor coordination.
Position Details:
Schedule: This is a full-time year-round position (12-month position) Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
Reports to: Facilities Operations Manager
Location: West Education Center in Minnetonka, MN
Salary is based on SEIU Local 284 Salary Schedule Grade VI: $27.35 - $28.30 per hour

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with two years of semi-skilled mechanical and facilities maintenance experience;
- Electrical and mechanical; building structural and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance and repair work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred;
- Physical Requirement: Employees appointed to positions in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties of the class.
- A pre-employment physical examination and lift assessment are required;
- Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to significant levels of dust, heat, noise, extreme weather conditions and risk of injury from equipment and assaultive and/or abusive students;
- Incumbents in this class will be required at minimum to possess a valid Minnesota Special Class C low pressure engineer''s license appropriate for the boiler(s) HP to be a shift operator, or be currently enrolled in a program to obtain a 2nd class C low pressure engineer's license or, willing to enroll in a program to obtain licensure within ninety (90) days of appointment;
